I finally got around to putting together the best collection of photographs from Florence trip I went to in August. The trip was actually a gift from me and my boyfriend Miha to my sister Sara for her 20th birthday and we went there together by train. We had an awesome time, mostly because we all get along great. In this post you can finally see the faces of people that have to put up with me when I boss them around on photo shoots for this blog :). Most of the time Sara is the one who takes my pictures and we have lots of fun during the shoots, but I have to admit I often annoy her, when my ”only 2 more pics sentence ” turns to at least 20 more pics.
Anyway we had some bad luck with food choices for the first day and a half, because we chose all the wrong places to eat, they were in the middle of a tourist center of Florence and I definitely recommend you to avoid this kind of places. We figured out on the second day of our trip, that the best places to eat in Florence are usually partly hidden from the main streets and they often don’t offer an English menu. From that moment on, the food situation got a lot better and we were a lot happier, strolling around Florence with full bellies. The thing I liked about Florence the most, besides the beautiful architecture, were the talented street musicians you can find at almost every corner, especially in the evening. We stopped almost every time we saw a good singer or a musician on the street and spent quite some time just listening to the music. I think the evening is the best part of the day to explore the city, because you can really feel the vibe of the city and the streets are a little bit less crowded, so you can walk around without bumping into people every two seconds.
We slept at camp Michelangelo that is only about a ten minute walk away from the historic center and has the best view of the city, since it’s situated on a hill. If you need a place to stay while in Florence, but don’t have a lot of money to pay for a hotel, I can definitely recommend you this camp. The tents are already there when you arrive and they look like little houses with beds inside. So you don’t have to bring your own tent or bedding, because the already have everything there. If you have any questions regarding Florence or need some tips for when you visit, write the questions into comments and I will gladly help you! 🙂 Hope you like this post, it’s a little bit different from my usual outfit posts.
